Family Shelter Manager (Grove Campus)
SAFE Alliance seeks a Family Shelter Manager for the Residential & Support Services program in the Family & Community Shelter department. The manager ensures a trauma-informed, solution-focused approach is implemented by the Resident Advisor Team, maintaining safety for residents. Responsibilities include reviewing incident reports, serving as the point of contact for partners, maintaining facility cleanliness and safety, creation and management of Resident Advisor staff schedule, responding to work orders promptly, supervising housekeeping, implementing emergency procedures, collaborating with Client Support Coordinator regarding client intakes, exits and property management, and participating in enhanced safety planning for clients.

We are dedicated to ending violence through prevention, advocacy, and comprehensive services for individuals, families, and communities that have been affected by abuse.
In the past two years (23-24), our community outreach and education has provided over 12,000 adults and youth violence prevention training. The number of forensic exams provided at Eloise House numbered over 300. Our various housing and shelter programs provided over 700 survivors per day with safe housing and shelter. Over 120 survivors fleeing sex trafficking received services through our CARES program and over 27,000 callers/chats/texts, walk-in advocacy, crisis intervention and face-to-face emotional support has been provided through our 24/7 confidential SAFEline.

Position Details:
We are looking for one person to work on a full-time, exempt basis for an annual salary of $55,000 to $58,000 dependent upon experience. The work location will be based at Grove Blvd. Campus in the East Austin area. This position will include some travel in the community or between campuses with no ability for remote/hybrid work. The shift currently available is Monday through Friday 9am to 5pm. This position currently requires you to participate in an On-Call schedule/rotation by serving on back up manager rotation to ensure 24/7 on call availability to shelter staff during weeklong rotation.

Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field.
- Equivalent years of professional-level relevant experience is acceptable in lieu of a Bachelor's Degree.
- Two years' experience in direct client work required. Preference given to experience in a residential, crisis, and/or homeless or domestic violence shelter program.
- Two years of supervisory preferred, one year is required.
- Knowledge of issues and systems related to domestic & sexual violence; sexual abuse, exploitation, and trafficking; child abuse; and homelessness.
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task and be flexible in a fast-paced environment with integrity, compassion, and the skill to handle sensitive issues in a confidential manner.
- Ability to focus on the tasks and details relevant to the position and the program, while also switching quickly between tasks.
- Ability to exercise excellent independent judgment and take ownership of decisions.
- Ability to work independently and self-manage to achieve goals while being a strong collaborator.
- Ability to organize, meet deadlines and delegate appropriately.
- Pays careful attention to detail; works with accuracy and maintains neat, well-organized documentation.
- Excellent communication and listening skills.
- With reasonable accommodation, this position requires the manual dexterity to sufficiently operate phones, computers, and other office equipment.
- Visual acuity capable of drafting, editing, reviewing, and/or comprehending materials in a standard typeface size 10 font or above, are required.
- Be capable of sitting and standing for extended periods of time, as well as be able to intermittently push, pull, or lift 75+lbs. of force.
- Occasional exposure to adverse working conditions, including the performance of work in cramped and/or awkward positions, and exposure to safety hazards, loud noise, traffic, and inclement weather conditions is possible.
- This position requires driving. You must have a valid, State of Texas Driver's License (If in possession of an out-of-state license, obtain a State of Texas Driver's License within 90 days of beginning employment.) AND at least three (3) consecutive years of driving experience OR one (1) year of driving experience if over 27 years of age AND an acceptable driving record that covers at least the last three years of driver history.
- This position requires completion of the 40-Hour Office of Attorney General Sexual Assault Advocacy Training Program in person within six (6) months of starting employment, along with participating in annual continuing education throughout your employment.
- Pass all required criminal history background checks (including an FBI fingerprint check if applicable), as well as a pre-employment drug screen and TB test, if applicable.
