The SAFE Family Court Legal Advocate (FCLA) is responsible for providing and training volunteers to provide short/long-term advocacy and support to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking and trafficking that are applying for a Protective Order through the Travis County Attorney’s Office (TCAO). The FCLA assumes the lead role for developing, coordinating, scheduling and delivering court accompaniment trainings for both staff, volunteer advocates and community members.
The Family Shelter Advocate provides in-person services at SAFE's Family Shelter providing advocacy support and short term case management services to families and individuals. They provide trauma informed care to those served in our shelter program and helps survivors navigate internal and external services with more ease while making their stay in shelter as supportive as possible.
