Sexual Assault Victim Advocate (Bilingual) (Grove Campus)
SAFE Alliance seeks a Sexual Assault Victim Advocate (Bilingual) for the Community Services Program in the Sexual Assault Services department. Advocates provide strengths-based, client-centered, trauma-informed accompaniments and follow-up advocacy to survivors. Advocacy is provided on a face-to-face basis where they discuss medical and legal options, and explain The SAFE Alliance support services (such as counseling, legal advocacy, and follow-up services). All advocacy is provided in English and/or Spanish to survivors.

We are dedicated to ending violence through prevention, advocacy, and comprehensive services for individuals, families, and communities that have been affected by abuse.
In the past two years, our community outreach and education has provided over 400 trainings to over 7,000 community members. Our various housing and shelter programs have provided over 46,000 nights/days of care and served over 3,000 youth and adults directly affected by abuse. We have provided over 10,000 callers/chats/texts, walk-in advocacy and crisis interventions or face-to-face emotional support through our 24/7 confidential SAFEline.

Position Details:
We are looking for one person to work on a full-time, exempt basis for an annual salary of $48,000 to $50,000 dependent upon experience and an additional annual language differential of $3,600 for those who are English/Spanish bilingual. The work location will be based at our Grove Blvd. Campus in the East Austin area. This position will include some travel in the community or between campuses and will allow for some remote/hybrid work. This department maintains a staggered workweek to provide 24/7 services. This position works 40 hours, Monday-Friday, is on-call from 7am-7pm Monday-Wednesday, and receives an additional annual on-call stipend of $2,000 if applicable.

Required Qualifications:
- Possess a Bachelor's Degree in social or behavioral sciences, or related field. Sufficient related relevant work experience may be substituted for degree.
- Minimum One (1) year experience providing crisis stabilization support and advocacy or case management services to trauma/sexual assault survivors required.
- Those fully bilingual in English and Spanish with the ability to communicate clearly and accurately to convey information using both languages, both verbally and in writing is required.
- Knowledge of issues related to violence against women, sexual assault, domestic violence and human trafficking required.
- People skills that include the ability to quickly and confidently establish rapport and connection; with proven critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work cooperatively with external partners and must be comfortable in your role as an expert while interfacing with other first responders.
- Presence and maturity to represent the organization positively in the community.
- The ability to work independently, exercise initiative, and accomplish tasks without continuous supervision.
- This position requires in-person service delivery in fast-paced medical environments. Working in medical environments may include exposure to patients with a multitude of medical conditions. Hazards include exposure to communicable diseases and blood borne pathogen exposure. Emergency Departments recommend annual flu shot.
- Significant computer work is required. Use of an agency cellphone and laptop for all work is required.
- Availability to work full-time (40 hours per week), including evening/night/weekend hours required. This position requires a flexible work schedule in order to meet the demands of the Sexual Assault Victim Advocacy program. Attendance is required once a month at an evening team meeting.
- This position requires driving. You must have a valid, State of Texas Driver's License (If in possession of an out-of-state license, obtain a State of Texas Driver's License within 90 days of beginning employment.) AND at least three (3) consecutive years of driving experience OR one (1) year of driving experience if over 27 years of age AND an acceptable driving record that covers at least the last three years of driver history.
- Must have and maintain reliable transportation and be able to arrive at any medical facility in Travis County within 1 hour of dispatch.
- This position requires completion of the 40-Hour Office of Attorney General Sexual Assault Advocacy Training Program in person within six (6) months of starting employment, along with participating in annual continuing education throughout your employment.
- Pass all required criminal history background checks (including an FBI fingerprint check if applicable), as well as a pre-employment drug screen and TB test, if applicable.
